Wanted to share the amazing news that The Average Everyday Adventures of Samantha Browne has been chosen as a digital selection for IndieCade, the International Festival of Independent Games!

So come join me in LA at the USC Campus this October 14-16, there will be amazing talks, lots of general good times, and of course games.

I’m so excited and honored to have been included among the many impressive and wonderful games this year.

A Long Awaited Update

Hello there everyone,

Well, it’s been a minute hasn’t it? This summer I’ve spent time planning and learning new tools and visiting family back home in Chicago. Sadly, it’s taken me away from posting as many updates as I would like but no more I say. No more!

So, I’ll get straight to the biscuits:
  1. We’ve surpassed 54,000 downloads on Steam!
  2. I’ll be speaking at Geek Girl Con this October! My first ever big old speaking engagement about mental health and video games.
  3. And the most exciting news of all (insert trumpet fanfare) Episode 2 of the Samantha Browneseries is officially in the works!ːsteamhappyː

The second episode of the Samantha Browne series will be feature new characters and a much longer story. I don’t want to give away too much, but I’m supremely excited and can’t wait to provide you with more consistent updates on how Episode 2 is progressing.

I hope all of you are well and I’m so sorry it’s been so long since I said hello and gave you an update. Thank you again for your continued support and for your kindness.

We Reached 25K Downloads!

Hello there,

We did it, we reached 25K downloads of a short game about social anxiety and I’m pretty well stoked!!

This would not and could not have been done without you. People have been primarily learning about the game through word of mouth and that’s been the most humbling aspect of all. That you have take the time to play, to share this with your own social circles–well, it means a lot. I’ve probably said that many times in these updates, but it never stops being true. So thank you. Thanks for your words, your kindness, and your support.

Also, I recently did a podcast which I haven’t listened to yet because I’m afraid of hearing my own voice–ever since a pair of truckers told me I sounded like a little boy on a CB radio back in 1996–but if you are interested in hearing more about the game I’ve included the link: A Momentary Pause.

Samantha Browne: Bug Fixes

Hey all,

First, thanks so much for your support and for playing the game! It means so much to me. I’m grateful to each of you for taking the time to share this game with friends, write reviews, and provide feedback.

Now to the fun bits…

  • Samantha’s magically appearing sixth finger is no more.
  • Made adjustments to ‘Once More, With Feeling’ achievement. Also, as a tip, the order of the fails is important.

Samantha’s Super Streaming Contest Announcement

So here’s the deal

Part of the fun and excitement around launching a game, at least for me, is getting to share in other people’s experiences. That’s why I’m pleased as punch to announce Samantha’s Super Streaming Contest.

You can find all the major details here on the contest website, but here’s the gist:

  • Download the game when it comes out on 4.19.16
  • Stream yourself beating the game on a service of your choosing
  • Submit the URL of your stream to us via the entry form
  • The first 25 players will then be *eligible to win their very own Samantha Browne inspired goodie.

I know that you have a ton of games you can choose to spend your time with everyday. The knowledge that anyone would like to spend their time with something I made fills my heart with a happiness I cannot adequately describe. Release Update

Oh, Hello.

How are you? Hopefully well.

Without much further ado, here’s the latest and greatest:

  • The Average Everyday Adventures of Samantha Browne is almost here and like time itself, there’s nothing any of us can do to stop it.
  • On April 19, 2016 you’ll be able to download the game for free on these fine services: Steam, the Apple App Store, and itch.io.
  • The first 25 players to beat Samantha Browne while streaming will receive a physical gift you can hold and treasure for all your days, or for a month, it’s really up to you. More details coming soon.
  • We have a smörgåsbord of fun planned so please check out Twitter and Facebook for the latest news.

Preparing for Release

As the countdown to release approaches we’re getting everything ready for the final push.

What does all of that actually mean?
